General Election (November 8) Information and Voting Dates

  • November 1 (by 5 pm) - mail-in and absentee ballot applications must be received
  • November 8 (by 8 pm) - mail-in & absentee ballots due
  • November 8 – In-person Voting (polling hours 7 am - 8 pm)

Secure Ballot Drop Boxes

Completed mail-in ballots and absentee ballots may be dropped off starting Saturday, October 29, 2022, through Election Day on November 8, 2022, from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. A secure ballot drop box will also be available in the lobby of County administration offices at One Montgomery Plaza in Norristown for extended hours.

Voter education staff will be on hand at each drop box location to assist voters with proper ballot return procedures. Ballots placed in the secure ballot drop boxes are delivered daily to the Montgomery County Voter Services by County Security, and date stamped when they are received. Voters choosing to utilize the secure ballot drop boxes may only return their own ballot.  

The closest drop-box to Towamencin is the Lansdale location by District Court 38-1-28, 430 Pennbrook Pkwy, Lansdale, PA 19446.

Board of Supervisors – October 26th Meeting

The next Board of Supervisors Meeting is this Wednesday, October 26 at 7 pm. This meeting will be held in the Meeting Hall of the Municipal Complex, located at 1090 Troxel Road, Lansdale. The meeting will also be streamed online via Zoom, for residents unable to attend in person, but wish to watch and/or hear the meeting.  Zoom links are provided on the Township website and Facebook page.

Public comments may be submitted in advance for those who can not physically attend the meetings or made in person. For those unable to attend in person, submit your public comment to info@towamencin.org until 4:30 pm the day of the meeting and your comment will be read at the beginning of the meeting.


Budget Work Session: November 2  (7 pm)

As part of the annual budget process, the Board of Supervisors will meet with various Township departments and committees over the next month to review their budget presentations. The next budget work session will be Wednesday, November 2nd at 7 pm, at the Meeting Hall of the Municipal Complex located at 1090 Troxel Road, Lansdale, PA. Meeting will be held in person-only (no Zoom streaming).


2nd Annual Emergency Vehicle Trunk-or-Treat - October 29

Don't miss the 2nd Annual Emergency Vehicle Trunk-or-Treat hosted by the Towamencin Police Department and VMSC (Volunteer Medical Service Corps) .

Turkey Trot 5K - November 12

Registration is now underway for Towamencin's annual 5K Turkey Trot.  Registration Link. 

Time to start training for the Turkey Trot 5k Walk/Run! This is a great race for runners or walkers of all levels. The course is certified with chip timing, race photographer, and all runners get a long sleeved tech shirt. The overall male and female winners receive turkeys and all of those placing 1st-3rd in each category get medals. There is a children’s 10 and under fun run, no registration necessary. The award ceremony takes place right after the race and offers light refreshments to runners and spectators.  Pets and strollers are welcome.  Day of event registration increases to $45 and not guaranteed a shirt so register early!

DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT & CODE ENFORCEMENT

Towamencin Township, Montgomery County, a second-class township with a population of 19,000, is seeking a highly professional, results-oriented individual to serve as the Director of Community Development & Code Enforcement. The Director should possess strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, and is computer proficient. They must have comprehensive knowledge of local Pennsylvania planning, development, and land use policies, practices, and regulations. 

The Director is responsible for the enforcement of all Township Ordinances and state laws including but not limited to, building, zoning, and property maintenance. The Director is responsible for reviewing and processing all Subdivision and Land Development Plans, Conditional Uses, map and text amendments, variance, and special exception applications. The Director is a professional supervisory position, who reports to the Township Manager, provides overall direction and supervision over all aspects of the department, and provides support to the Zoning Hearing Board and Planning Commission. The Director will represent the Township at public meetings and will manage a staff of experienced professional inspection, building code, zoning, and construction officials. The Director also serves as the Township Zoning Officer.

Requirements: Five (5) or more years’ experience in land development and planning, including at least three years of supervisory experience; Direct municipal government experience along with a Bachelor’s or Associate degree in planning, public administration, engineering or a closely related field strongly preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and experience. Required to have a valid Pennsylvania state driver’s license. May be required to have or obtain additional formal industry certification(s) based on area of assignment. This position is full-time. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. Annual salary range: $90k to $100k.
