Meetings are open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend. Meetings take place in the Meeting Hall Building of the Municipal Complex unless otherwise indicated. Meeting Hall address: 1090 Troxel Road, Lansdale. Additional parking is available at the adjacent Family Worship Center parking lot. If using the Church's lot, we ask that our guests park on the side closest to the Township property.

Employment Opportunity - Director of Planning, Zoning & Code Enforcement

Towamencin Township is seeking a highly professional, results-oriented individual to serve as the Director of Planning, Zoning and Code Enforcement. The Director should possess strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, and be computer proficient. The Director must also have a comprehensive knowledge of local Pennsylvania planning, development, and land use policies, practices, and regulations.
The Director is responsible for reviewing and processing all Subdivision and Land Development Plans, Conditional Uses, map and text amendments, variance, and special exception applications. The Director is responsible for the enforcement of all pertinent Township Ordinances and state laws including but not limited to, building, zoning, and property maintenance. The Director is a professional supervisory position, who reports to the Township Manager, provides overall direction and supervision over all aspects of the department, and provides support to the Zoning Hearing Board and Planning Commission. The Director will represent the Township at public meetings and will manage a staff of experienced professional inspection, building code, zoning, and construction officials. The Director also serves as the Township Zoning Officer.
Preferred requirements: Five (5) or more years’ experience in land development and planning, including at least three years of supervisory experience; direct municipal government experience along with a Bachelor’s or Associate degree in planning, public administration, engineering or a closely related field strongly preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and experience. Required to have a valid Pennsylvania state driver’s license.

Christmas Tree Pickups

Our Public Works Department is performing Christmas tree pickups. Pickups will occur on a Monday/Friday schedule through January 31, except on Monday, January 19th. If you would like your tree removed, place it at the curb before 7 am on these designated days. If crews are assigned to snow removal or emergency work, pickup will be the following business day.

EAC and Bird Town Committee to Host a Children's Bird Town Workshop
Come out to build your very own birdhouse, cool bird feeder, and discover amazing facts about the birds in your neighborhood. Everyone is welcome to visit on Saturday, January 10, anytime from 10 am to 12 pm at the Township Municipal Building, Meeting Hall. Bring your imagination and curiosity, and get ready to chirp with excitement. We look forward to seeing you there! This event is FREE for all participants.
