Winter Environmental Tip

brought to you by Towamencin's Environmental Advisory Council

Cold Weather Composting: Don’t let the cold stop you – keep composting! Composting in winter is a great way to keep your waste low and out of the landfill. Not in the mood to run out to your compost bin/pile when it’s chilly out? You can store your weekly compost in a 5L pail just outside your backdoor and transfer it only when it’s full. Your compostable items will stay very cold or frozen with no smell until you’re ready. You could also try vermicomposting indoors – fun with worms!
