The Parks and the Trail Systems are maintained by the Department of Public Works. Recreation activities are planned and operated by the Parks and Recreation Department. Youth Sports Leagues are run by Towamencin Youth Association (TYA). Towamencin Township provides diverse year-round leisure opportunities through the preservation of open space, park settings, recreational facilities and programs for the citizens of Towamencin Township. The benefits of leisure services are especially designed to meet the physical, mental, cultural, and social needs of our residents and visitors to our community, while enhancing the overall quality of life in Towamencin.

 

Youth Sports

Youth Sports Leagues (Baseball, Softball, Basketball, Soccer) are coordinated through the Towamencin Youth Association (TYA). Please visit their website here.

 

Morgan Log House

The Morgan Family was identified as being among the earliest Welsh settlers in the Towamencin area and the first settlers of the land the house currently sits on.  Among the descendants of Edward Morgan and his wife Elizabeth are the grandparents of frontiersman Daniel Boone.  The Morgan Log House is run by the Welsh Valley Preservation Society. Park, Recreation and Open Space Preservation Plan Update
In accordance with the guidelines of the Montgomery County Green Fields/Green Towns Program, Township staff, Consultants and an Advisory Committee made up of Township Residents has been working to update the Township's Park, Recreation and Open Space Preservation Plan that was last revised in 1995.  Attached the Park, Recreation and Open Space Preservation Plan that was approved by the Montgomery County Open Space Board. Preservation Plan This is a very large document(11.7mb) and will take time to open.

 

Geocaching

The township currently prohibits the placement of geocaches on township property including township owned parks and open space.
