  Emergency Planning: Special Needs Registry

Bucks, Chester and Montgomery Counties have jointly developed this registry to allow citizens with special needs and their associates an opportunity to provide information to emergency response agencies, so emergency responders can better plan to serve them in a disaster or other emergencies.

For the purpose of this project, a special needs individual is someone who cannot receive, understand or act upon emergency protective orders.

The information collected here will not be available to the public. The information will be held securely and only accessed for the purpose of emergency response and planning.

Please be as complete as possible in your responses. You will be e-mailed periodically to verify and ensure the information provided is correct and to make any necessary changes. Individual surveys will be archived after one year if not verified and facility surveys will be archived after six months if not verified. Click here for more information.

  Emergency Notification

ReadyNotifyPA is a system that helps local officials in Southeastern Pennsylvania send emergency text alerts and other important notifications to you quickly.  ReadyNotifyPA can send these to your cell phone, pager, BlackBerry, PDA and/or Email account.  You decide how you'd like to be notified.  For more information click here.

Mandatory Leaf Recycling Program

Leaf and Yard Waste Collection

Pennsylvania Law prohibits placing leaves in the trash. Leaves must be composted on site or placed out for separate collection.  Your Contracted Waste Hauler is to provide this service to their customers in Towamencin Township.

  • *   Residents must purchase their own biodegradable leaf and yard waste collection bags that
         are available at grocery and hardware  stores; no plastic bags are permitted.

*    No more than 10 bags per collection.
*    Haulers are to advise customers of specific dates for leaf pick-up:

*    First collection in late October

*    Second collection in November
*    Third collection in May

*    Customers can be billed by their hauler for this DEP mandated collection.

          *    Haulers are required to report tonnage collected from each collection to
                Towamencin so that it can be forwarded to DEP.
