Veterans Park Grant Celebration – Thursday, July 29th at 10:30 am

On Thursday, July 29th, the Township’s Veterans Memorial Committee will be hosting a ceremony to commemorate the Township’s recent $25,000 grant award from the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED). The DCED grant along with a previously awarded $25,000 DCNR grant allows the Township to advance to the planning phase by developing a Veterans Memorial Park Master Plan. In addition to celebrating this funding milestone, the Committee will recognize Senator Bob Mensch’s continued support of the Veterans Committee in its efforts to secure these grants.

Residents are invited to attend this ceremony on Thursday, July 29, from 10:30 am - 11:30 am at the location of our future Memorial Park - the Tennis-Lukens Cemetery open space, off Allentown Road, adjacent to the Towamencin Shopping Village Center’s Planet Fitness. Lite refreshments will be served.

Board of Supervisors Meeting - July 28th at 7:30 pm

Our public meetings are now open to the public. Unvaccinated individuals are encouraged to wear a mask. We will continue to offer the Zoom streaming option for our Board of Supervisors meetings for those who prefer to watch from home.

To access the Board of Supervisors' meetings via Zoom or to submit a resident or taxpayer question/comment to be read during the public comment, email by 4:30 pm the day of the meeting. Include your name and address along with public comment submissions.

Large Pavilion Gatherings Require Park Permit/Reservations

Earlier this spring, we resumed our park pavilion reservations in light of decreased COVID-19 restrictions. There have been recent reports of groups of over 25 using pavilions on the weekends without securing a reservation/park permit with the Township. The park rules restrict this use.

“No group exceeding twenty-five (25) persons shall be allowed to use Township parks without a Parks Facilities Use Permit obtained from the Township Manager’s Office.”

If you plan on gathering at a pavilion with a group of over 25 guests, be sure to contact the Township at 215 368-7602 for availability and to coordinate a reservation via our park permit process. A copy of our park permit paperwork is attached.
